Joseph M. Butney

Trustee, Fraternal Order of Police, Chicago Lodge 7

Joe is an 18 year veteran who started with the department in January 1991. He has worked his entire career in a beat car. He worked in 011^th district from 1991-1999. He then transferred to 013^th district from 1999-2008. In 2008, he bid to the 008^th district and currently works on the 2^nd watch.

Joe was elected as a trustee in 2002, and was re-elected to serve a third term in 2008. He currently serves on Grievance, Political Action, Public Relations, Health and Insurance committees, and serves as Chairman of Special Events. In 2007, Joe was appointed to the current Contract Negotiating Team and serves on the work schedule sub-committee.

Joe and his wife, Julie, are residents of the Garfield Ridge area on the southwest side. They are proud parents of two children, Morgan (3), and Jacob, the most recent addition in February 2009.
