Retiree Dues Increase
Dues for retired Chicago Lodge #7 members
will increase by $10.00 beginning in 2009. The rationale for
this increase is explained in a letter from President Mark

Gun Registration Update
For Chicago Residents whose weapons are
not currently registered with the City of Chicago, you have an
opportunity to bring any previously registered duty approved
weapon into registration.
Submit the
completed registration form, along
with copies of your F.O.I.D. card,
your current drivers license, and
your CPD I.D. (card stamped
retired).
All weapons in
the City of Chicago must be
registered at CPD headquarters at
the Gun Registration Desk. Contact
745-5164 for additional information.
Chicago
Dept of Public Health Security Augmentation
Program
The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is developing
plans to preemptively respond to any public health crisis,
natural or man-made, that impacts Chicago. Plans include a
city-wide mobilization of resources for the mass prophylaxis of
the city's residents. Security is a consideration that has to
be addressed and the CDPH has recognized the potential offered
by
retired law
enforcement personnel.

Class Action Lawsuit
In 1998 a class action lawsuit
was filed against the City by several Chicago police officers
who missed time from work due to injuries caused by third-party
tortfeasors. Judgment has now been entered against the City. The

Registration Reminder ( Chicago Residents)
When was the last time that you
registered your weapon? The City used to send a notice that your
registration was about to retire. Apparently this is not the
case anymore. Retirees should be aware that registration is
required on a yearly basis as indicated on the
back
of the City registration form. Please verify your
registration status.
Survivor Handbook
One of the most

members is, "What should my
surviving spouse/family do in the
event of my death?" The
Lodge #7 Survivor Handbook has
been designed with this question in
mind. Members should download,
complete, and discuss the contents
with potential survivors.
