“I have reached out to Superintendent Beck to increase the protection of our members in the wake of the threat of the coronavirus virus. At the suggestion of my Second Vice President Martin Preib, I have asked that a testing facility for the virus be made availability at the parking lot of 35th Street headquarters for all first responders. Additionally, I have requested that the medical staff be increased to handle any influx of officers reporting potential medical for exposure to the virus and to track that officer’s unit of assignment so that all co-workers can be tested as well. Lastly, I want a guarantee that our first responders have immediate access to medical care for any potential exposure.”
