ELECTION UPDATE
FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE, CHICAGO LODGE No. 7

The Election Committee provides this notification to the Lodge 7 membership concerning recent protests. The Committee has received protests filed against members of both the “Second City” slate and the “Vision and Voice” slate. The Committee reviewed each protest thoroughly and, where appropriate, found a violation and issued an appropriate remedy. To date, the Committee has issued a Violation Noted to both the “Second City” slate and the “Vision and Voice” slate. In the interest of maintaining a fair election, no details of either protest will be released publicly by the Committee. However, both slates have been cautioned that if future similar acts occur, the Committee may be inclined to consider additional remedies.

Going forward, the Committee will continue to vigorously perform its duty to ensure that a fair, secret and expeditious election occurs. To that end, the Committee will review the February (and March, in the event of a runoff) edition of Chicago FOP Lodge 7 Magazine prior to it being published to the membership. Finally, the Committee calls upon all candidates to conduct their campaigns professionally and appropriately. Thank you.
