Illinois State Crime Commission Awards Protector of Working People to FOP Lodge 7
President Dean Angelo, Sr.

Jerry Elsner, Executive Director of the Illinois State Crime Commission announced that the Protector of the Working People Award for 2017 has been given to Dean C. Angelo, Sr., President of Chicago Lodge 7 of the Fraternal Order of Police. Mr. Elsner said “It is an honor for us to give Dean Angelo this award.
He has a thirty-seven year track record of fighting crime as a Chicago Patrol Officer and Detective and as an instructor for Chicago Police Officers.” Through this time, Mr. Angelo has also been active in the Fraternal Order of Police, which represents Chicago Patrol Officers. He has risen to the role of President after serving as a Watch Rep, Unit Rep, Trustee and Chairman of the Trustees. He also worked as a full-time Field Rep for Lodge 7.
Mr. Angelo said “I am happy to receive this prestigious award and I look forward to continuing the good work that the Lodge does for its members and the citizens of Chicago.”
Mr. Angelo will be formally presented with the award at a dinner and ceremony on June 21, 2017 at the Oak Brook Drury Lane Theater.
